I was always told that if gay men find you hot, you are hot. And I have always taken that as a compliment.
Growing up and into my more fit years, I would get hit on by gay men pretty regularly. It did not matter where I was. The gym, the supermarket, a club, it made no difference. And I always told Wifey about it over the years but she kind of took it with a grain of salt. Until today.
We were walking together, holding hands, when this guy came toward us and locked eyes on me with an intensity that made me stop and think for a second. I genuinely could not tell if he wanted to fight me or kiss me. As he got closer he smiled, and Wifey caught the whole thing. She goes, he looked right past me like I did not even exist. We are holding hands and he just stared you down with those eyes.
I said, I told you.
She finally got to see it in action.
My gay friends have told me this for years. They say gay men have an eye for it, and if they find you attractive it is because you actually are. There is no agenda behind it, no ulterior motive. It is just an honest reaction. Coming from them, that means something.
I am not in the best shape of my life right now. I am not exactly a spring chicken anymore either. But apparently I still have something going on, and I will absolutely take that.
