Sweet Tooth Series Review

This is another show that apparently originated in comic books. Who knew that comics would one day grow to dominate tv and the big screen. I recall seeing how at one point the prudes were trying to get rid of comics, pretty much like everything else that is awesome.

Sweet Tooth is about a world that has pretty much fallen apart due to a lethal virus that kills people. A side effect of said virus is that babies are now becoming what are called “Hybrids,” half human and half animal. The type of animal varies.

It a sweet, albeit sometimes frustrating show about a hybrid kid who is being kept safe, raised away from society, whatever remains of it, who eventually has no choice but to jump in head first. Many hybrids are not wanted by their parents, so they become kind of like wild animals, but Sweet Tooth, he’s raised like a human boy and can talk and behaves like a human kid. He’s ignorant to much of the reality out there, which is part of what I find frustrating, but also what makes him special and endearing.

We binged this show and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m looking to pick up the comics to get the rest of the story, but I’m also looking forward to season two. Definitely check this show out, it is really good.
