The Irregulars

This show showed up on our Netflix and we were kind of on the fence on whether or not we wanted to watch it but we decided to give one episode ago to decide. That’s all it took, after one episode, I was intrigued. It wasn’t one of those shows that blows your mind but it was actually pretty good. It was good enough that we both wanted to continue watching it.

The premise of the show is around some youngsters which are very poor and actually live in a cellar in the hood of London. They are recruited by a Doctor Watson to try and solve some supernatural type of crimes. “Don’t you and your sister need money?” Why did he choose them? Well that’s complicated as you’ll learn. However, one of them happens to have some sort of psychic abilities and she’s key to the missions. One of the characters happens to be of a very interesting station in life and decided to mix it up with these guys. That action in and of itself makes for one hell of a story. Damn.

Interestingly, when I watched the preview it appeared to somehow tie with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Though make no mistake, this series primarily focuses on the teens (The Irregulars) and their crazy investigations. Aside from that, it definitely paints both Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in a very different light than you are probably accustomed to knowing them.

I totally recommend watching this show. The season finale does not really leave you feeling angry or like you were left hanging and waiting in some way. It gives you a resolution, though it is rather sad and heartbreaking for some individuals. Definitely worth a watch.
