I think that I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite comedy sitcoms. From the moment I saw the previews that pop up on Netflix, where they showed Norman Newlander and Sandy Kominsky going back and forth, I was hooked.
My son, my wife (on occasion), and I binged all three seasons of this show fairly quickly. It is a very heartwarming, funny, sad, and serious show all in one. It follows an acting coach through his day-to-day life and features many characters connected to him, including his daughter, ex-wife, students, and my all-time favorite, Norman Newlander.

This guy has such a dry sense of humor—so matter of fact and blunt—that it’s hilariously refreshing. I’m not sure I would have watched this show the way I did if Norm and Sandy didn’t have the dynamic they do right from the start.
If it had started with season 3, I probably wouldn’t have continued watching. But by that point, we were already really invested, so it was worth it. You’d really have to mess it up to make us lose interest three seasons in. However, had it started there, I don’t know.
The show also features a number of celebrity guest stars, such as Danny DeVito and Morgan Freeman.
If you’re looking for a funny, heartwarming, and sometimes really sad sitcom comedy drama, check out The Kominsky Method. It comes highly recommended from the Rodriguez household.

Just a life long New Yorker sharing the journey through my lens. Please take note of a post’s date. The views I express here are subject to change and evolving as I grow and learn.
