Will Smith messed up but all this?

Look, I know that Will Smith made a mistake. He had a moment where he lost control and did some dumb stuff. The reasons for why this happened at this point don’t matter. Was it trauma from childhood? Was it because Jada cheated on him? Was it because he’s fed up with being clowned? Who knows, but he did it, okay?

Sure, he certainly didn’t earn any fans with his acceptance speech after either. It was a bad night all around for the man. He messed up and he did it very publicly at a huge event where all these rich and famous people go to celebrate each other and act like they are so important. Okay, we got it. He ruined your pompous moment with some real world crap.

So now what? Y’all looking to take his Oscar? They trying to cancel him? Some of his movies including “Bad boys 4” are allegedly being put on hold as the studios figure things out? Netflix is allegedly considering recasting a movie called “Fast and loose?” So a person messes up and they are no longer worthy of their work or accomplishments?

I don’t know what should happen over what he did, but this whole cancelling thing is exhausting. I mean, at the end of the day, Will Smith doesn’t need to work or earn money. He’s pretty much set for life. But this nasty incident, I don’t think it warrants destroying the dude’s life.

I really don’t like how society is these days. A person messes up and you basically want to eliminate them from everything. The world doesn’t work that way. And honestly, there are levels to this thing. If you read my work, you know I condemned Will Smith for his actions. He was wrong, but let’s be real here, he slapped another grown man. He didn’t murder somebody, he didn’t violate anyone sexually, he didn’t kick a puppy.

He messed up and he should publicly apologize and hash it out with Chris Rock and that should be the end of it. Maybe bring him on the red table or whatever that thing is and work it out on camera. That will feed and simultaneously appease the vultures looking for dead flesh.

I like Smith’s work, he’s very talented and entertaining. He had a bad moment, but that shouldn’t mean we make him and his work disappear. We had a president who violated an intern, he was forgiven by you. We had a woman who called black people super predators, she was forgiven. We had a man who was actually elected president after saying “Grab them by the pussy.” We had a guy who used to bait innocent dogs forgiven and receiving contracts again. Yet we are looking to destroy Will Smith over a slap? That’s OD too much.

All on his own, he tainted, stained and damaged one of his greatest accomplishments that night. I’m sure he has been kicking himself every moment since then over that outburst. He really made himself look like a complete fool and he’s got to live with that. I think that’s pretty bad already.

Honestly, I believe that all these extra actions from these Hollywood elites are about making themselves look good rather than actually caring about what happened. Let’s keep it real here, they ain’t fooling me.
