Samson Donick, 22, pleaded guilty to the reduced charges as part of plea deal with prosecutors that also required him to apologize to the woman he assaulted.
The crazy thing here is that the victim didn’t want to go through a lengthy trial. She asked the judge to drop the rape charge to a lesser one. That’s her choice, and she has the right to do it for whatever reasons. Though, in my opinion, he should still have been tried for the crime as they had enough evidence with or without her choosing to proceed with the charge.
This guy “apologized” as part of his plea deal. To me, that is adding insult to injury. He is apologizing because it’s part of the plea deal, not because he genuinely feels it, or means it. It’s just sickening to me. Probation, community service, and a gps tracker? He got off extremely easy, and he’s lucky that I don’t run the system. In my world, sexual crimes would lead to some disastrous consequences! Spoiler alert, I mean death. Rapists would get death.
So once again, here we have another sexual predator walking the streets.
