This inspiring film tells the true story of the 6888th, a group of women of color who overcame doubts and logistical challenges to deliver mail during World War II. Their perseverance and dedication helped boost soldier morale and connect families across great distances. A must-watch tribute to real heroes.

Murder at Yellowstone City Review: A Modern Western with Mystery and Betrayal

05/22/2025, 9:42 am Angel Rodriguez 0

This Western film, unrelated to Yellowstone or 1883, offers a classic tale of a stranger blamed for murder. With themes of suspicion and betrayal, it blends mystery, action, and heartbreak for a fresh take on the old West. Definitely worth a watch for fans of the genre.

Just finished watching this gripping Western set between the founding of the ranch and modern Montana. The intense plot twists, touching love stories, and nonstop challenges keep you hooked. It’s a wild ride full of drama that fans of Yellowstone and 1883 will really enjoy.

Back in Action Film Review: Fun Chemistry but Lacking Intense Action

02/17/2025, 4:36 am Angel Rodriguez 0

“Back in Action” offers lighthearted fun with solid chemistry between Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz but falls short on intense action and high stakes. If you’re in the mood for an easy, predictable comedy with some decent action moments, this film can be an enjoyable watch.

American Primeval: Honest Review and Thoughts on the Intense Western Limited Series

02/09/2025, 3:44 am Angel Rodriguez 0

This gripping limited series dives into the brutal realities of early America, following Sara and her son’s perilous journey west. With complex characters and intense moments, it’s a surprising and solid watch that kept me hooked. Definitely worth checking out if you love historical drama.

Killing Eve Final Thoughts: A Good Series with a Rushed Ending

01/29/2025, 4:21 am Angel Rodriguez 0

Just finished watching Killing Eve and enjoyed the thrilling story of an assassin and MI6. While the ending felt a bit rushed and cheesy, the series is still worth watching. Planning to read the book next to see if it offers a fresh take or different conclusion.

A Quiet Place: Day One Review – Enjoyable but Leaves Many Questions Unanswered

01/05/2025, 7:24 pm Angel Rodriguez 0

The movie delivers enjoyable moments and strong performances but adds little to the overall story. With minimal dialogue and plenty of unanswered questions, it feels like a quick watch made for fans rather than offering new insights into the alien mystery or expanding the franchise’s plot.

Red One is an action-packed holiday movie starring The Rock and Chris Evans as they race against time to save Christmas. With wild stunts, globe-trotting adventure, and a tough Santa, it’s a fun, lighthearted ride that’s loud, goofy, and perfect for getting in the festive spirit.

Episode 116 – BJJ Safety, Abuse Concerns, and Changing Attitudes in the Jiu Jitsu Community
by@Angelrtalk

Some time ago, I wrote a post saying I wasn’t completely comfortable with my wife training jiu jitsu with men. The reaction from many practitioners was intense. I was called insecure, and some people insisted that abuse simply doesn’t happen in the BJJ community.

Since then, I’ve seen more and more posts and discussions acknowledging that jiu jitsu has had issues with grooming and abuse, and that these problems have existed for years. It’s been interesting to watch that shift. When I first shared my concerns, a lot of higher belts and experienced practitioners dismissed my perspective. Now, many of those same types of voices openly recognize that these problems are real.

That contrast is hard to ignore. I talk about it in more detail in episode 116.

I saw something similar during my time in the military. In environments that are heavily male dominated, with very few women, the risk of misconduct can increase. My concerns were never about insecurity. They were about awareness, caution, and looking out for the people I care about.
