They Call Me Q

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a talented actress by the name of Q. Qurrat Ann Kadwani, the solo actress for the show “They Call Me Q” is an amazing, talented woman. She’s appeared on several television roles, and received all sorts of fancy accolades for her one woman show. I was lucky enough to see a preview of it live once, and she was amazing.

How great is she? Well, I tagged her in to give my baby sister acting lessons before a last minute audition. All this was on a whim, and she was not picked for the Netflix show “The Get Down,” but I was confident that if anyone could teach a noob the trade of acting, Q could do it!

All that being said, if you have never seen the full play, Qurrat Ann Kadwani has made the show available via DVD. She still does college tours, and there is an off chance that you could catch it live one day. However, if you can’t wait, you can purchase a copy of “They call me Q” here.

Watch Qurrat Ann Kadwani perform the roles of 13 characters all within one hour, and having seen her before, I can tell you that she is really amazing and totally deserving of the many awards and accolades that she has received for her show, and her acting. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her on a big screen one day as a lead actress next to some of the all time greats. I remember watching her live, she was very intense and convincing in her roles. Check her out folks!

Just to add, and this is not at all relevant to her talent, but in my opinion she is also one of the most elegant, classy, beautiful women I have ever laid eyes upon! I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but behold, to these eyes, beauty such as hers inspires poetry!

Hey, some of you may not know this, but I am actually on a hit song from the Kannada region of India. The film Uppi2 has done rather well, as has the soundtrack.

Perhaps one day me and Q will make some wonderful Bollywood or Sandalwood magic together! Hey, a boy can dream!

Laden with heart and abundant humor, THEY CALL ME Q speaks to the universal search for identity experienced by immigrants of all nationalities.
