Sentosa Malaysian

[rating:3]

I went to lunch with the Mrs and her family. More often than not when we go out to eat, we will eat in the Flushing vicinity. Why? I’m not sure exactly, I suppose since that’s where many of the restaurants in this area are located?

So we went to Sentosa and had more or less the typical Flushing experience. Not too friendly staff, and the bare minimum when it comes to service.

This place was a Malaysian fusion of sorts, the food was slightly similar to Indian or Thai in terms of their use of curry and spices. I started by nibbling on some of the roti, and that was okay. The satay chicken was also okay.

The family often does a family style thing for the main dishes, and I tend not to like what other folks order, so I will always order my own specific dish. I’ve never really been a fan of family style, I don’t like being at the mercy of other people’s taste. If I’m going to sit and eat at a restaurant, I want to be sure I eat what I want to eat. This is always the case with me, no matter who I’m with or where I go. Angel will always get his own dish. This day I went with a very basic dish, and had beef rendang. Can’t go too wrong with a beef dish, and once again it was your typical Flushing experience.

The food wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible. It is acceptable. I can’t say anything too disparaging about it, but I have nothing very positive to say either. Well, at least the food didn’t give me a headache. I guess that’s a plus!

Bottom line, do I recommend the spot? Well, if you like the typical Flushing experience, then you will probably be okay with this place. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return though.
