Shadow and Bone

I recently finished this series. There are two seasons on Netflix, and after that, it was canceled. The show has a similar feel to the cartoon Avatar because the characters have powers similar to the benders. However, in this series, they are called “Grisha.” The story revolves around one person who has the superpower to control the sun, and everyone is searching for that person. There is another character who can control the opposite, shadows and darkness. He seeks her out because he allegedly wants to make the world a better place for Grisha.

There is also a love interest and plenty of side missions that the main characters and some of the supporting characters undertake throughout the series. I do not want to drop any spoilers here, but I will say that I’m okay with the show being canceled. This is not because I don’t like the show; rather, I fear that if they had continued, they would have ruined what I perceived as a nearly perfect ending for the series.

At the end of the show, you see what is coming next, and the whole idea appeared like trash to me. Sometimes, you should just know when to leave well enough alone, and based on what I saw, I was absolutely disinterested from that point on.

Honestly, they should’ve just cut that whole thing out and ended the series. But you know how these production houses are; they love to leave us with cliffhangers and try to drag the shows out. Thankfully, we were not really left with any major cliffhangers here, and like I said, I was pretty satisfied with the way it ended. They shouldn’t try to keep it going.
