This story was fairly interesting. The title is somewhat misleading as the story does not follow Thanos, but his son, Thane.
This was the first time I encountered Thane. I didn’t even know Thanos had a son, let alone such a powerful one. Judging by how seemingly effortlessly he can take down a whole room full of people, it seems Thane may even be stronger than his father.
In this story, we follow Thane on his journey to learn about his father. At some point, one of Thanos’s loyalists appears to him and offers to show him moments and memories from his father’s life.
After some initial hesitation, Thane agrees and travels with his companion to discover all about his father. But he isn’t interested in emulating Thanos; he wants to study his father’s legacy so that he does not follow the same path.
Although it’s not shown exactly how, every time someone tries to harm Thane, they meet a sudden and violent end. It suggests that in some ways Thane might be more like his father than he realizes, since his opponents do not survive.
In the comics, people think Thanos is mad because he talks to Lady Death, whom no one else can see. Similarly, as the series progresses, Thane talks to someone invisible to others and says, “What do you mean the ‘two’ of you?”
Many of the characters Thane talks to have apparently been dead for a long time, yet he receives information from them. It seems his father is somehow linking up with him telepathically from beyond the grave. It was a bit confusing at first.
As I try to put this together, I realize I should write these breakdowns sooner, because if too much time passes, I tend to forget the stories due to how much I read. There’s also something to be said about not remembering many details from some stories. Maybe I need to read more slowly, read them more than once, or perhaps some just aren’t that memorable.
All that said, if you are a fan of Thanos, I think you will enjoy reading about his son Thane. I’d like to learn more about him and plan to do more research and reading.

Just a life long New Yorker sharing the journey through my lens. Please take note of a post’s date. The views I express here are subject to change and evolving as I grow and learn.
