The Cursed Child Review: A Magical and Captivating Experience for Harry Potter Fans

I’ve been a Harry Potter fan since the early 2000s, so when they announced this, I was all in. Now, you might ask yourself, why did it take so long to see it? The answer was the double-day show format. No one wants to attend a show only to be left hanging and then have to return another day. I figured that for it to truly succeed, they would need to adjust it into a longer one-day experience, and that’s exactly what they did.

‘The Cursed Child’ is lengthy, with over 3 hours of playtime, but the story is captivating. I read the play years ago and have been patiently waiting for the show. Now, I await the film, hoping it comes to pass. Also, Daniel, it would be great to see you return for the movie. Many fans would truly appreciate it!

I won’t spoil anything, but the story involves the children of Potter, Malfoy, and many others from the earlier books. Interesting developments occur, and the Voldemort saga continues to evolve in its own way.

I thought the show was fantastic. The seats we had were not ideal, but that came down to a miscommunication with the marketing side of things, which was no big deal. The production pulled off many impressive magical effects that felt very real and added greatly to the overall experience. At one point, the dementors come out toward the audience, and it is both thrilling and quite spectacular.

If you’re a Potter fan, I definitely recommend going to see it.
