The Cursed Child

I’ve been a Harry Potter fan since the early 2000s, so when they announced this, I was all in. Now, you might ask yourself, why did it take him so long to see it? The answer? Double-day shows. What’s up with that? No one wants to go to a show only to be left hanging and then come back another day. I knew for them to survive, they’d have to adjust and change it to a longer one-day show, and that’s exactly what they did.

‘The Cursed Child’ is lengthy, with over 3 hours of playtime, but the story is captivating. I read the play years ago and have been patiently waiting for the show. Now, I await the film, hoping it comes to pass. Also, Daniel, stop acting like you’re so important and come back for the movie. We made you, buddy! You owe your fans!

I won’t spoil anything, but the story involves the children of Potter, Malfoy, and many others from the earlier books. Interesting things happen, and the Voldermort saga continues to evolve, sort of.

I thought the show was fantastic. The seats we had were lousy, but that was a miscommunication with the marketing side of things, no biggie. They pulled off many cool magical tricks that seemed very real and added to the show. At one point, the dementors come out toward the audience; it’s terrifying but also pretty spectacular.

Listen, if you’re a Potter fan, cut the crap and just go watch it.
