Island Burgers and Shakes is a moderate size restaurant. We stopped in after an off-Broadway show, and a table for four required a short wait. Good company made the time pass quickly.

The space is a little tight. It is one of those places where you have to pull out the table for people to squeeze in, which can be a bit inconvenient. That said, it is a welcoming spot with really good service. The staff were pleasant and friendly throughout the visit.

I went with a cheddar burger, and this one was incredibly juicy. A big, flavorful burger all around. At one point, a staff member came over and offered a fresh plate since mine had filled up with juice from the burger. She even offered fresh buns given how juicy it was. The burger was tasty and enjoyable from start to finish.

One of my friends ordered cheese fries, which were fine but not really my preference. They were a bit much for my taste. To put it simply, those fries do not quite compare to the steak fries at Junior’s. Not saying they were bad, just not my thing.

For dessert, my wife and I shared a milkshake. It was pretty good, nice and thick, and a solid way to end the meal.

Overall, the food, service, and experience at Island Burgers and Shakes were all pleasant. I would return someday to try another burger.
