I have to tell you folks, this is one of the funniest specials that I have seen in a very long time. I’m talking about laughing for real, out loud. Some parts and jokes were hilarious!
It’s fascinating that the standup session pretty much revolves around the Chris Rock slap heard around the world. He speaks quite a good deal on Rock, but also on Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and their kids Willow and Jaden.
The genius of it all is that even though he is focusing his special on those people and the events around the slap, Marlon managed to build an entire hour plus comedy routine around it. The show isn’t just him talking about the slap, he covers so much more history that they have together and keeps you entertained the entire time.
I’ve watched many, many comedy specials on Netflix and HBO and I’ve enjoyed them all. But I’m telling you, this one had me actually cracking up and laughing in a way that I haven’t done with a special for a very long time.
Marlon Wayans knocked it out of the park with this special. If you make time to watch one comedy special this year, sit and watch this one because I was dying laughing. Marlon is a great storyteller and this special was spectacular.
