Samaritan Film Review

This film with Sylvester Stallone and a kid from Euphoria and Dascha Polanco, who was on my podcast, is sort of like a superhero genre film that also has some regular non-powered weird villains.

It is by no stretch of the imagination “a good film” per se, but it is not so bad that I hate it. I finished it over two separate sittings because it was a bit much to do in one. Like I said, it’s not horrible but it’s definitely not what you’d consider a dope superhero film.

Overall, I enjoyed periods during the film but some of it was just straight up ridiculous. I mean these dudes were fighting, completely surrounded by fire and flames, and none of them were affected by smoke inhalation? Give me a freaking break bro! The kid was there too along with some non-powered people, and nothing, not even a cough? WTF?

There are some really interesting twists to the film, and it involves two super powered brothers who end up on opposite sides of the coin. Now there’s a surprise, brothers fighting each other. /Sarcasm/

Listen, if you have some time to kill, and you are a fan of the superhero genre, and want to watch what one could consider a B level movie in the genre, then check Samaritan out.
