The Batman Movie Review: Why Robert Pattinson Delivers the Best Batman Yet

03/02/2022, 7:30 am Angel Rodriguez 0

Just saw the new Batman with my son, and wow—Robert Pattinson nailed it! The film is intense, action-packed, and full of great performances. If you’re on the fence because of Twilight, don’t worry. This just might be the best Batman movie yet!

Punisher vs Daredevil: A Seventh Circle Review on Justice and Moral Conflict

02/21/2022, 2:37 am Angel Rodriguez 0

I get why Daredevil sticks to his moral code, but letting a killer like Antonov stay alive while more innocent people die is frustrating. Sometimes The Punisher’s extreme methods make more sense when justice means keeping others safe, not just playing by the rules.

02/01/2022, 7:47 am Angel Rodriguez 0

This fresh take on The Punisher’s origin shows Frank Castle caught in a mob hit in Central Park. After losing his family, he tries justice through the system but turns to vigilantism when corruption runs deep. A gripping, fast read that captures the dark spirit of the character.

The Punisher: The Cell – A Compelling Alternate Origin Story Review

01/26/2022, 7:01 am Angel Rodriguez 0

This comic offers a fresh take on The Punisher’s origin, with intense action and a complete story. Unlike the show, his family is killed in a random shooting, leading him to Riker’s Island to confront his enemies. A solid read for fans looking for a satisfying Punisher story.

Red Comic Review: A Thrilling Look at Frank Moses and the Action-Packed Series

08/09/2021, 7:19 am Angel Rodriguez 0

I recently rediscovered the comic Red from Homage Comics, featuring the skilled retired CIA agent Frank Moses. The story is action-packed and different from the Bruce Willis movie. With a cool prequel and just three issues, it’s a quick, fun read I highly recommend for action fans.

Killmonger Series 1-5 Review: A Dark and Compelling Storyline Beyond Black Panther

07/10/2021, 1:38 am Angel Rodriguez 0

I recently found free comics on the Kindle site that include a five-part Killmonger series. The story isn’t part of the main Black Panther continuity, but it’s well done and shows Erik’s dark path. Fans of Killmonger should definitely check it out!

Inhumans TV Show Review: A Mixed Bag with Potential and Frustrations

03/18/2021, 11:13 pm Angel Rodriguez 0

I’m watching “The Inhumans” and kinda on the fence. The story is oddly interesting, though some acting feels over the top. Scenes can be awkward, especially with Black Bolt and Medusa’s sister. Not binge-worthy yet, but I’m curious enough to keep watching in small doses.

Episode 116 – BJJ Safety, Abuse Concerns, and Changing Attitudes in the Jiu Jitsu Community
by@Angelrtalk

Some time ago, I wrote a post saying I wasn’t completely comfortable with my wife training jiu jitsu with men. The reaction from many practitioners was intense. I was called insecure, and some people insisted that abuse simply doesn’t happen in the BJJ community.

Since then, I’ve seen more and more posts and discussions acknowledging that jiu jitsu has had issues with grooming and abuse, and that these problems have existed for years. It’s been interesting to watch that shift. When I first shared my concerns, a lot of higher belts and experienced practitioners dismissed my perspective. Now, many of those same types of voices openly recognize that these problems are real.

That contrast is hard to ignore. I talk about it in more detail in episode 116.

I saw something similar during my time in the military. In environments that are heavily male dominated, with very few women, the risk of misconduct can increase. My concerns were never about insecurity. They were about awareness, caution, and looking out for the people I care about.
